yes, our region is truly beautiful, but to keep it that way, sometimes you have to actively protect it. For example, Lavaux was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site to preserve it and prevent overdevelopment. You can clearly see the damage that uncontrolled construction can cause in and around Montreux.

Hallo Stephan,
bei solchen alten Gemäuern denkt man automatisch das es sehr kalt sein müsste, aber die damaligen Herren waren auf alles vorbereitet. Um es schön warm zu haben, gab es nicht nur grosse Kamine, sondern auch dicke Wandteppiche an den Mauern, so das die Kälte nicht allzu stark durchdrang. Die vielen Stoffe die man damals am Leibe trug taten ihr übriges...

By the way, this image is also a favorite of Google Image Search. That explains the differences in views compared to the other sunsets.

Until last night, I didn't know that this image (and other photos) can be found on Google Images (search).
Question: How does it get there and who or what decides whether an image is listed on Google Image Search?

Hello Christine,
Google employs scouts who are constantly searching for images and other content on the internet. When they find something, they set a link to the search term; however, we do not know the criteria they use to select. We were also surprised by the number of views on one of our images and found it on Google:

Hallo Jeanny,
dieser Augustmorgen mit seinen Nebelschwaden und taubenetzten Spinnweben machte mir bewusst das der Herbst nicht mehr weit ist. Bei der vielen Auswahl die ich an diesem Morgen von der Natur geboten kam, gefiel mir dieses Motiv am Besten.

Hallo Sven,
während wir auf die Sonne warteten, um einen Bergsee zu fotografieren, hörten wir es pfeiffen. Kurz darauf entdeckten wir die ersten Murmeltiere.
Bis wir alle Fotos machen konnten brauchte es viel Geduld,aber dass Beobachten dieser Tiere machte viel Spass und war spannend.

Guten Abend Julian,
so schön die Strohballen aussehen, so schnell werden sie vom Bauern abgeholt. Länger als ein bis zwei Tage bleiben sie kaum liegen. So muss man sich bei Fotos mit Strohballen fast schon beeilen.
