on our first trip to Ireland, unfortunately we didn't make it to Connemara. But this year it's happening... nearly 3 weeks in Ireland, including 1 week in Connemara and 1 week in Mayo. What should we definitely see? I would appreciate some suggestions.

unfortunately, I have to pass - we only know Connemara in sections (Galway Bay) and Mayo not at all, except from Heinrich Böll's Irish Diary.
But I think you have the eye and time to surely find what appeals to you. We already wish you a wonderful trip and look forward to your pictures.

es ist ein beschrankter Bahnübergang an einem Weg, keiner Straße.
Die Eisenbahn sollte hier mal nicht die Hauptrolle spielen, sondern die Natur. Sie gehört dazu, die Hauptrolle für mich spielte hier die kleine rote Blume, die es nur zur Getreidezeit gibt und mal nicht im Getreideacker steht.
Im übrigen das Grün ist verschwunden seitdem 2 neue Laternenbäume gepflanzt wurden.

yes, our region is truly beautiful, but to keep it that way, sometimes you have to actively protect it. For example, Lavaux was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site to preserve it and prevent overdevelopment. You can clearly see the damage that uncontrolled construction can cause in and around Montreux.

The image is a product of chance.
Actually, I wanted to photograph some railways.
But since there was no train in sight at the moment, I took a look in the bushes to see what was going on there.
I had to be a bit patient, but it was worth it.

deine drei Fotos zeigen sehr eindrücklich den Rückgang dieses Gletschers. Leider ist dieser starker Rückgang nicht nur bei diesem festzustellen, sondern bei allen anderen. Ob die Schutzmassnahmen, die Gletscher im Sommer mit einem speziellen Stoff abzudecken wirklich helfen, scheint mir Anbetracht dieser Bilder mehr als fraglich.

Hallo Christine und Jörg,
danke für euren Kommentar. Die Veränderungen sind offensichtlich und - wie du, Christine richtig erwähnst - weit verbreitet. Ich denke, in absehbarer Zeit wird sich die Situation trotz internationalen Gipfeltreffen und sonstigen Anstrengungen nicht verbessern. Leider triftet die Diskussion aus meiner Sicht eher in Richtung Glaubensfrage, da sich für verschiedenste, nach spezifischen Interessen und Gusto gestaltete Zukunftsszenarien Wissenschaftler finden lassen.
