Hello Uschi and Werner,
thank you very much for your kind comment. I love roses. The droplets back then, the whole image simply fascinated me...
Best regards, Christine

Hello Willi,
it could be carbon dioxide bubbles from the mineral water?

Hello Stefan,
on our first trip to Ireland, unfortunately we didn't make it to Connemara. But this year it's happening... nearly 3 weeks in Ireland, including 1 week in Connemara and 1 week in Mayo. What should we definitely see? I would appreciate some suggestions.
Wishing you and your loved ones all the best for 2010.
Best regards, Marina

Hello Marina,
unfortunately, I have to pass - we only know Connemara in sections (Galway Bay) and Mayo not at all, except from Heinrich Böll's Irish Diary.
But I think you have the eye and time to surely find what appeals to you. We already wish you a wonderful trip and look forward to your pictures.
Greetings from Blonay
Stefan

Hello Hubert,
it is a gated railway crossing on a path, not a road.
The railway should not play the main role here, but rather the nature. It is part of it; for me, the main role here was played by the small red flower that only appears during the grain season and is not standing in the grain field this time.
By the way, the greenery has disappeared since two new London plane trees were planted.
Regards, Frank

Hello Christine,
You can't convey cold and snow better with a photo - brilliantly captured - brrr, that makes you freeze..

Hello Uschi and Werner,
Indeed, it was very cold, but also a great day.
I am glad that I managed to convey the cold so well, and that you like the photo.
Best regards, Christine

Hello Uschi, Werner, and Hubert,
yes, our region is truly beautiful, but to keep it that way, sometimes you have to actively protect it. For example, Lavaux was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site to preserve it and prevent overdevelopment. You can clearly see the damage that uncontrolled construction can cause in and around Montreux.
Thank you for your comments.
Best regards, Christine

every season has its special charms, and winter can sometimes convey warmth in its own way.

Hello Werner
Thanks for the compliment.
The image is a product of chance.
Actually, I wanted to photograph some railways.
But since there was no train in sight at the moment, I took a look in the bushes to see what was going on there.
I had to be a bit patient, but it was worth it.
Regards
Manuel

Hello Heinz,
your three photos very impressively show the retreat of this glacier. Unfortunately, this significant retreat is not only observed here but with all others as well. Whether the protective measures, covering glaciers in summer with a special fabric, really help seems more than questionable to me in view of these pictures.
Beautiful photo
Best regards, Christine

Hello Christine and Jörg,
thank you for your comment. The changes are obvious and - as you, Christine, correctly mention - widespread. I think that in the foreseeable future the situation will not improve despite international summits and other efforts. Unfortunately, from my point of view, the discussion tends to drift more towards a matter of belief, as scientists can be found to support a variety of future scenarios shaped by specific interests and preferences.
Regards, Heinz
