The waxing moon on the evening of 10.01.2014 over Aachen. The large crater Copernicus is clearly visible on the left in the center of the image. It is located in the Mare Insularum, has a diameter of 93 km, is 3760 m deep, and was a finalist as a landing site for a manned moon landing during NASA's Apollo program.

The Fehmarnsund Bridge of the Bird Flight Line, the largest coat hanger in the world, celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 30th this year and is a landmark of Schleswig-Holstein. But this doesn't seem to interest the sheep in the foreground at all; they prefer to take their midday nap.

On the way from the Steinwarder Promenade over the dike to the beach, you have to climb these wooden stairs in Heiligenhafen. The paved paths are important for dike protection; otherwise, the sensitive vegetation that protects the dike from erosion would be destroyed. 06.06.2013

Clean energy generation in the light of the setting sun.
On the edge of the Fehmarn Belt between the island of Fehmarn and the Danish island of Lolland, about ten kilometers south of Nysted, lies the Rødsand I offshore wind farm. Here, on an area of 24 km², 72 wind turbines with a capacity of 166 MW are installed. The towers are 69 meters high, and each of the three rotor blades is 41 meters long. The foundation of each of these wind turbines alone weighs 1,800 tons, and the tower with the nacelle, generator, and rotor blades weighs another 250 tons. The construction of the wind farm cost approximately 213 million euros and was carried out between 2002 and 2004.
Photo taken on 08.06.2013 from the pier of the Puttgarden ferry port on Fehmarn.

The Fehmarnsund Bridge, or as the locals call it: the largest coat hanger in the world. The bridge celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 30th this year and is a landmark of Schleswig-Holstein. It connects the island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea with the mainland near Großenbrode and is a combined road and railway bridge.
On May 14, 1963, the ferry port of Puttgarden, about 8 km away, was opened, from where ferries continue to Denmark. The Vogelfluglinie was completed and significantly eased train and car traffic. This anniversary 50 years of the Vogelfluglinie was also celebrated with a special postage stamp and several events on Fehmarn.
At Flügger Strand on Fehmarn stands this memorial stone, where Jimi Hendrix gave his last concert on September 6, 1970, at the Love and Peace Festival, 12 days before his death. The festival also featured performances by Canned Heat, Mungo Jerry, Alexis Corner, Ginger Baker, and Rod Stewart, among others. It must have been an atmosphere like Woodstock; the weather was miserable and the festival organization chaotic. Photo taken on 07.06.2013

Latest generation wind turbine with six blades on 24.08.2012 in Merzbrück near Aachen! Joking aside, due to the correct distance and angle to the front wind turbine, the blades of two wind turbines standing one behind the other align in a line, giving the impression that it is a rotor with six blades.

Kristallklares Wasser und Temperaturen über 35 Grad laden am 15.06.2012 zum Baden in der Paulusbucht in Lindos auf Rhodos ein.
