Jannis ran up to us at the Tsambika beach on Rhodes at the end of May. The poor guy is about 4 to 6 weeks old, weighed just 2.5 kg, and managed to get us, with the help of the hotel manager, the vet, and many helpers, to pull out all the stops to take him home. Here he is lying in our beach bag, which he immediately claimed, in the hotel room. 

Ein Blick aus dem Fenster des Fliegers beim Landeanflug auf die Insel Rhodos. Die Maschinen fliegen in einem weiten rechtsbogen über das Meer um über die Altstadt von Rhodos zu gleiten und dann auf dem Flughafen in Paradissio zu landen. Diesen Anblick kann man aus der Altstadt sehr gut geniessen weil die Flieger dort schon in geringer Höhe mit ausgefahrendem Fahrwerk zu sehen sind. 

Hohe Brandung an einem kleinen Strand in der nähe von Kalithea auf Rhodos (GR).Normal ist hier das Wasser spiegelglatt, aber diesmal war in der Nacht vorher auf dem Meer ein starker Wind und die ca. 1,5m hohen Wellen klatschten nun gegen die Felsen. 

Ein Blick auf den Stadtstrand von Rhodos. Hier an der Westküste der Insel Rhodos weht sehr oft ein strammer Wind, der die Temperaturen im Hochsommer erträglich macht und viele Surfer anlockt. 

A bright red apple still hangs on the tree in the first snow. We forgot to pick it in autumn and were now treated to this beautiful sight during an early onset of winter (20.11.08). Meanwhile, the birds in the garden have also enjoyed it. 

Entrance to Mandraki Harbor in Rhodes. At this spot where the Rhodian coat of arms animals stand today, the Colossus of Rhodes is said to have stood straddling the harbor entrance and was destroyed by an earthquake. 

Der Tsambikastrand auf Rhodos im Osten der Insel zwischen Kolymbia und Archangelos. Ein feinsandiger ca. 500m langer Strand der rechts und links von bis zu 300m hohen Felsen eingerahmt ist. 
