an impressive shot. How should one imagine the swallowing of the lighthouse? Does it slowly sink into the sand, similar to a bog?

In this case, "swallowing" means that the dune keeps advancing and covering it with sand, although this will not happen all the way up to the top of the tower. The tower is probably already about 50% buried in sand. Since this is a migrating dune, it is possible that as it continues to move, the tower will eventually stand completely free again. The houses that stood around the tower are already completely covered with sand and destroyed.

Thanks for the comments; a rainy day, and instead of a scenic cliff hike, we took a bus tour – and once again I managed to capture an atmospheric image, one rarely found on a postcard.
By the way, we suspect the mouse hole is on the right side: a rather narrow harbor entrance...

thank you. We were incredibly lucky with the weather – 1.5 days of rain in 16 days. However, we did not expect such icy wind conditions; next time we will be prepared for that ;o). Even in bad weather and using a polarizing filter, our lenses are still fast enough to deliver the most incredible photos... sometimes we are amazed ourselves. I really like your Cliffs of Moher photos; I wasn’t able to bring back comparable shots. That’s part of the fascination for me... being able to "capture" an incomparable moment or impression with the camera.

I think we agree on this: Ireland cannot be seen, Ireland must be experienced! And capturing this "experience" in photos is not always easy. For years I had a "special camera" for this: a ballpoint pen and some sheets of paper, but you have succeeded in impressively capturing the fascination of Ireland visually, making viewing your pictures an experience.

The photo stop is quite nice, but the recorded chanting and the women dancing in front of the waterfall could be skipped.
To take a decent picture, you have to wait until most of the tourists are back on the train.

when I first saw the Huldra at the waterfall and heard the droning music from the tape, I laughed so hard I slapped my thighs! This nonsense was copied by the Flåm tourist office from the USA. Many years ago, the chairman proudly told this once in the Baltic Sea report.

During the construction period of the Lærdal Tunnel, the Norwegian Ministry of Transport commissioned a study to investigate long tunnel drives. After all, it was the first car tunnel of such length. The study found that long underground driving neglects the senses and attention rapidly diminishes. This can be avoided if sunlight is simulated at regular intervals for the human eye. This led to the idea of building the three "light gates" at kilometers 6, 12, and 18. Were there any works during your drive through the tunnel? Every time we drove through, there were small repairs or cleanings. I suspect this was also intended to promote drivers' attention. Here are a few photos:
