Hello Stefan,
a successful photo... great subject, beautiful perspective, and a well-executed depth of field.
I am also fascinated by such walks, it's incredible what there is to discover and photograph there.
Best regards, Marina

Good evening Marina,
thank you very much for your comment; to be honest, I have to add that my walk was quite short, from platform 2 to platform 1, where this photo was taken, and back again to catch my train.
Greetings from Blonay

Hello Enrico,
this shot cost me quite a few nerves. It was pretty windy that day and the cornflowers kept moving, making it almost impossible to photograph a single one.
Thank you for the kind words.

Hello Hans,
a very well-executed shot. I can understand the effort it took to photograph the bloom like this. Even a slight breeze can ruin the photo in a fraction of the exposure time.
I sometimes use strong sheets as windbreaks. During my plant observations, I always carry laminated (waterproof) quadrant cards, which help as wind protection in light wind.
Best regards, Karl

Hello Christian,
an impressive shot. How should one imagine the swallowing of the lighthouse? Does it slowly sink into the sand, similar to a bog?
Best regards, Christine
Christian Kühn 10.6.2008 13:56 10.6.2008 13:56
Hi Christine,
thanks for the nice comment :)
In this case, "swallowing" means that the dune keeps advancing and covering it with sand, although this will not happen all the way up to the top of the tower. The tower is probably already about 50% buried in sand. Since this is a migrating dune, it is possible that as it continues to move, the tower will eventually stand completely free again. The houses that stood around the tower are already completely covered with sand and destroyed.
Regards
Christian

Hello Christian,
thank you very much for the detailed response. When you see this photo, you can only vaguely imagine the houses that have disappeared.

Hi,
thanks for your comments :)
True, the houses are hard to see, I will try to publish some detail shots in the next few days where this will be more visible

Very beautiful landscape shot, the reflections in the water are great. I especially like the vibrant colors. And indeed... the good is usually close by.

Hello Manfred,
another great heron photo from you, I really like it. Despite using a 300mm telephoto lens, I still haven't managed to get a decent photo of a wild heron.

Even if I were illiterate, I would not dare to get too close to the 200-meter sheer cliffs of the Cliffs of Moher.
However, when you look at the pictures in the travel guides, they almost invite you to disregard reason and warning signs.
Best regards
Stefan

Hello Stefan,
similar cloud formations are currently often seen here as well, but unfortunately we don't have a lake, so I especially like your picture.

Hello Hans,
thank you. After the suddenly appearing thunderclouds ruined a CIS shot for me, at least this atmospheric image turned out well.

And the fourth signpost looks like it is pointing directly over the lake. The image is definitely much more than compensation for the missed train shot...

Hello Stefan,
in this regard, you would have very slim chances there, the nearest pub is probably many kilometers away... while I would comfortably settle in that barn with a "bag" of tea bags.
