Hello Enrico,
this shot cost me quite a few nerves. It was pretty windy that day and the cornflowers kept moving, making it almost impossible to photograph a single one.
Thank you for the kind words.
Jeanny

Hello Hans,
a very well-executed shot. I can understand the effort it took to photograph the bloom like this. Even a slight breeze can ruin the photo in a fraction of the exposure time.
I sometimes use strong sheets as windbreaks. During my plant observations, I always carry laminated (waterproof) quadrant cards, which help as wind protection in light wind.
Best regards, Karl

Hello Jeanny,
a very good close-up of a leek (Allium). These buds are still very young, making a definitive identification difficult. I would (without guarantee) guess garlic, Allium sativum.

Hello Karl,
nice that there is someone again at landschaftsfotos.eu who knows (almost) everything.
Thank you.

Hello Jeanny,
you’re making me quite embarrassed.
I know terribly little and constantly have to look things up in books. Let’s just agree that the books know (almost) everything and I am merely a user of this book knowledge.
Otherwise, the comment would really be a bit embarrassing for me.
Still, thank you for the well-intentioned praise.
Best regards, Karl

Good morning Karl,
don't be so modest. I did write "almost" everything.
No one knows everything, but it is important to know where to find it, for example in books. Most people don't even make the effort.
Best regards
Jeanny

Hello Christine,
this really stirs up a longing for the mountains. Great shot.

Good morning Karl,
The mountains always fascinate me anew, especially the Dents-de-Midi with its teeth. Maybe it won't just remain a longing to travel? I'm glad you like the photo.
Best regards, Christine

Hello Christine,
a dreamily beautiful landscape shot, you really didn't leave anything out... a lovely little place, lake with boat and mountain panorama including paraglider.
So far, I only know Switzerland as a transit country on the way to Tuscany... obviously, I have missed quite a bit.
Many greetings also to Stefan, Marina

Good evening Marina,
this day was simply wonderful: We had the day off and did what many tourists do here: vacation. We let our souls unwind, took a boat ride across the lake (this photo was taken during that), strolled leisurely along the lakeside promenade, and enjoyed a glass of the good local wine...
Best regards, Christine and Stefan

Once again, wonderful pictures from Ireland, Marina. Just to my taste.

Hello Marina,
beautiful shot, but the best thing about Ireland, at least if you have to be in Dublin, is hidden behind your back: Howth and the Cliff Walk. Just 10 kilometers from the capital, weary travelers can experience Ireland here on slopes covered with gorse yellow bushes, on seagull-droppings-stained cliffs of the big city...
By the way, easily accessible by DART even without a rental car.
Best regards
Stefan and Christine

Thank you very much for your kind comments.
Christine, I took the photo on the road to Howth Head. I really liked the view of the harbor of Howth and the offshore islands (Ireland's Eye and Lambay Island), but I agree with you... the view over Dublin Bay on the other side is a dream. I was surprised that the immediate surroundings of Dublin are so charming.
Best regards, Marina

Hello Jeanny,
a beautiful high-contrast shot of the Shore Bindweed, also called Shore Fence Bindweed.
The plant has several other rather amusing names in different regions due to its growth habit, such as Schlangenwenda (Swabian Alb), Bettseicherli (Geislingen, Göppingen), Regeblume (Switzerland, here with the belief that tearing off the flowers brings rain), or several terms in East Frisia: Düfels-Neigarn [Devil’s Sewing Thread], Theeköpke [Teacup] or Pisspott; in Graubünden, Heizenberg it is called parvenglas; since the flower only opens during the day, Dagblome in Emden, etc.
Best regards, Karl

Hello Karl,
those are funny names for this beautiful and tough blossom. In the gravel bed of the tracks, there was otherwise nothing living to be found here. That's why I believe it survived the weed-killing train.
Thank you for the positive rating and the interesting explanations.
Best regards
Jeanny
