Mountains and snow as far as the eye can see, and over the valley lies great silence! When you see this photo, it is hard for the viewer to imagine that in summer everything here is full of life.

However, it was not as deserted as it looks in the pictures. There were plenty of skiers on the slopes, enjoying the good weather on the second day of Christmas.

We were standing on a slightly elevated spot, so fortunately our feet stayed dry. What looks like a lot of water in the picture was mostly ice, only at the outer edges did it start to thaw.

Question: How does it get there and who or what decides whether an image is listed on Google Image Search?

Hello Christine,
Google employs scouts who are constantly searching for images and other content on the internet. When they find something, they set a link to the search term; however, we do not know the criteria they use to select. We were also surprised by the number of views on one of our images and found it on Google:

Hallo Jeanny,
dieser Augustmorgen mit seinen Nebelschwaden und taubenetzten Spinnweben machte mir bewusst das der Herbst nicht mehr weit ist. Bei der vielen Auswahl die ich an diesem Morgen von der Natur geboten kam, gefiel mir dieses Motiv am Besten.

a beautiful shot. Because of the radiant white, such a photo is not so easy in sunshine. By the way, if I counted correctly, only 6 or 7 of the many blossoms are open. Here, the daisies have just almost appeared overnight. Compared to last year, everything here is about 2-3 weeks later than the previous year.

a beautiful shot. The arrangement of the "tubes" has a fascinating, geometric, almost Irish shape.
@Karl: Here, the daisies are only blooming now as well, but two years ago we had a daisy bush on the balcony that bloomed until January.

oh yes - you take two to three pictures and then pick the best one - a very beautiful shot and well done. I don't know how you do it, I switch to manual, set the aperture as high as possible, and use the flash if necessary. Then the depth of field is quite good.

I have not used the flash for such shots yet, I also switch to manual mode with a high aperture and take several pictures to be able to choose the best one later.

Besonders die schöne Farben der Dünen gefallen mir gut und die Strauße erst, man hat den Eindruck als würden sie jeden Moment loslaufen.
