Evening mood on the Brocken with a view towards the East Harz; visible are the enormous forest damages on the Hohneklippen. It must be said that everywhere the tree skeletons stand, the new young forest is already growing on the ground. The dying and eventually decaying forest literally prepares the ground for the young forest by fertilizing and deacidifying it... 
