Sun Garden, painting: oil, oil pastel, grasses, sand, wood on reinforced canvas, 2025, 205 x 200 cm. I conceived the image back in the mid-90s in Berlin based on a photo of a sunset over a lake in Potsdam. Through the wooden art gate I invented and the many flowers in the foreground, and finally the rendering of the light, it becomes a meditation image. I completed it in January of this year...

And found my light in the vastness of nature, Painting, Diptych: Oil, oil pastel on cotton + wood, 2022, 107 x 291 cm Connection between macro- and microcosm; in the background, view from the Brocken at midday looking south and south-southwest over Königsberg, Wurmberg, Achtermannshöhe, Rehberg, mountains of the South Harz to the Thuringian Forest on the horizon, approx. 150 km away, and the Kassel mountains on the southwestern horizon, up to approx. 130 km away... With the diptych, I want to show the unity of the harmoniously designed organism of nature, but also the widespread forest dieback, especially of the spruce forest, since around 2018. But nature is our home, our origin, and our true wealth...

My commitment to the unobtrusive insects that are slowly disappearing. It is alarming how few bumblebees, beetles, butterflies, etc. remain in cultural landscapes. Yet nature is a harmoniously ordered organism; everything, including the small inconspicuous creatures, has its purpose, belongs to our habitat, our basis for life, which we are increasingly destroying... so Live and let live...
