Foundation Land Schäferhaus west of Flensburg - In 1998, the Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation acquired the military training area from the federal government and leased it to the Bunde Wischen. The foundation land was named after the nearby original Schäferhaus. To this day, the areas in the foundation land are maintained as naturally as possible, various animal and plant species are protected, and the land is managed with livestock. Since the mid-1990s, the area has been owned by the Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation and was declared a nature reserve.
