West of Lysekil lies the Stångehuvud Nature Reserve. Skerries are a special feature of the Swedish coast. A skerry (from the Swedish skär ) is a small rocky island formed by the activity of the inland ice. Skerries usually appear in clusters ( skerry gardens ). They can range from a few square meters to several square kilometers in size and rarely rise more than 50 m above the sea. Photo taken: August 2, 2017.
