I am very happy that you like the picture so much. I took it in the evening at sunset around 4:30 PM (so there was still daylight) and enhanced the contrast with a graphics program, which is why the craters are so clearly visible. I was also very surprised that the result turned out so detailed, as it was taken with only a 250mm lens.

it's incredible what thoughts and memories can go through your mind when looking at a picture.
This shot reminds me a lot of my Baltic Sea vacation on Fehmarn in June this year. When the light becomes soft and the beach chairs cast their long shadows on the beach, the Baltic Sea has its own charm. You sit in the dunes, let your gaze wander over the beach and sea to the horizon, hearing only the cries of seagulls and the lapping of waves. Pure relaxation, which, if you're lucky, is crowned by a magnificent sunset. Thanks for sharing, I really like how you captured this atmosphere.

Danke Fred, die Sonnenuntergänge in unserem Urlaub dieses Jahr auf Fehmarn waren so schön, das wir uns fast jeden Abend dieses farbenfrohe Schauspiel von verschiedenen Stellen aus angesehen haben. Hier am Rand des Naturschutzgebiet Sulsdorfer Wiek war es ein tolles erlebnis die Vögel zu beobachten, wie sie vor dem leuchtend roten Himmel ihre Schlafplätze anflogen.

The play of colors in the sky was indeed overwhelming that evening and framed the silhouette of the Breiniger church tower between the trees. Hopefully, we can still observe many beautiful sunsets this summer; they fascinate me anew every time.

Thank you Armin, I'm glad you like the picture so much. In the early evening, the moon had a slightly reddish tint that made it appear a bit larger. They say "nothing is as beautiful as the moon over Wanne-Eickel," but the moon over Aachen is not to be underestimated either, right?

vielen dank für deinen lobenden Kommentar, es freut mich sehr das dir diese bizarren Sandsteinfelsen so gut gefallen. Das Bild wurde übrigens von meiner Frau Tina gemacht, die anfang April Gelegenheit hatte die Externsteine zu besuchen.

Danke Jeanny, es ist wirklich spannend was man auf ein paar Quadratmetern eigenen Garten alles entdecken kann. Dicke Bohnen habe ich dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal gepflanzt und ich war von den schönen Blüten echt beeindruckt. Wenn sie reif sind gibt es erst mal Dicke Bohnen mit Speck, da freue ich mich jetzt schon drauf.
