Hello Christine,
it's not just the shades on the beach, but also the beautiful clouds and the perfect composition that contribute greatly to this successful image.
Best regards
Hans

Hello Hans,
you are right. Sometimes it is not easy to find the right words for a photo, just like with this one. I am glad that you like the photo.
Best regards, Christine

It's a pity part of the head is missing.

View up to the Stelvio Pass (2758m). A total of 27 km and 48 hairpin bends! (go to image)

This is an insanely awesome motorcycle route. Unfortunately, I was only there by car, but it was fantastic as well. When those crazy cyclists overtake you going downhill, it really changes your perspective.
The fuel consumption going uphill was, of course, through the roof, reaching up to 11 liters in some sections. But the scenery is top-notch!!!

Hello Hans,
but even snails have their pitfalls, as I managed to scare one away much to Christine's dismay!
best regards

Hello Stefan,
this one was also living dangerously. As you can see, it is about to crawl from the platform edge onto the tracks. I didn't witness whether it ended dramatically.
Best regards
Hans

Irish green - fascinates me too!

Yes Stefan, it is so green,...
also in Luxembourg!
Mainly in spring, the trees differ through the various shades of green, in summer this green then becomes more uniform.
Enough "greening".
Best regards.

Hello Christian,
an impressive shot. How should one imagine the swallowing of the lighthouse? Does it slowly sink into the sand, similar to a bog?
Best regards, Christine

Hi Christine,
thanks for the nice comment :)
In this case, "swallowing" means that the dune keeps advancing and covering it with sand, although this will not happen all the way up to the top of the tower. The tower is probably already about 50% buried in sand. Since this is a migrating dune, it is possible that as it continues to move, the tower will eventually stand completely free again. The houses that stood around the tower are already completely covered with sand and destroyed.

Christian

Hello Christian,
thank you very much for the detailed response. When you see this photo, you can only vaguely imagine the houses that have disappeared.
Best regards, Christine

Hi,
thanks for your comments :)
True, the houses are hard to see, I will try to publish some detail shots in the next few days where this will be more visible

hopefully there was also Guinness in liquid form on your trip.
Beautiful pictures that you brought back.

Hello Hans,
Contrary to our usual habits, we were tempted by the advertising: in Innsbruck, Vienna, and Bratislava. But since, as Stefan learned at the language school in Ireland, the dark juice is supposed to be good for the blood, it was not detrimental to our health
