Hallo Marina,
eine sehr schöne Aufnahme. Ich war 1997 einmal dort, eine Mühle ist als Museum stets im Betrieb gewesen. Es hieß damals, die anderen dienen als Sicherheitsreserve, falls die Elektropumpen einmal ausfallen würden. Das Land liegt minus 1 Meter unter 0 NN.

vielen Dank für Eure freundlichen Anmerkungen. Holland ist ohnehin ein wunderbares Land, aber Kinderdijk hat unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen... ein traumhaftes Fleckchen Erde. Wir wollen im September noch einmal dorthin. Die Mühlen sollen dann nachts angestrahlt werden.

The contradiction of the photo, against common sense, is what makes the photo fun; just turning the white seemingly black.

Hallo Jeanny,
eine sehr schöne Nahaufnahme von der Zaubernuss. Die ist in vielen Gärten angepflanzt und blüht meist um die Weihnachtszeit bzw. sehr früh im Jahr - in diesem Jahr allerdings erst ab Mitte März.

By the way, this image is also a favorite of Google Image Search. That explains the differences in views compared to the other sunsets.

Question: How does it get there and who or what decides whether an image is listed on Google Image Search?

Hello Christine,
Google employs scouts who are constantly searching for images and other content on the internet. When they find something, they set a link to the search term; however, we do not know the criteria they use to select. We were also surprised by the number of views on one of our images and found it on Google:

Hallo,
vielen Dank für die netten Kommentare. Es war der erste schöne Sonnenuntergang in diesem Jahr und der erste Tag an dem es endlich ein bischen wärmer war.
@Johannes: Wenn du dich gedanklich auf dieser Bank niederlässt um die Sonnenstrahlen zu geniessen dann bietet dir dieses Plätzchne auch noch einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den Genfersee und die Berge.
