Then, shortly before sunset, the sun finally broke through the veil clouds. Mild temperatures and rain are forecasted. That’s probably the end of the walkable/drivable ice on Lake Gnadensee in winter 2016/17 (29.01.2017).

There is no longer any way to get there. This famous viewing platform in the Saxon Switzerland on the Bastei, "Saxony's Balcony," about 200 meters above the Elbe, remains permanently closed for safety reasons; renovation of the rock outcrop is not possible. Discussions are already underway about the construction of a skywalk and a large observation tower; photo taken on 12.06.2009
