Up to the Wilseder Berg, at the top right we can see the plateau, where we also find the summit stone. The mountain can also be descended in an easterly direction, past the shelter hut towards Wilsede. 2014

Blooming heath on the Sellhorner Weg, the view goes to the Turmberg near Oberhaverbeck, on the map the Turmberg is mistakenly labeled as Wemberg....
Photo from 2014, but you can also see that from the Exif data, which is why I have not disabled it.

Late summer 2014, the heath near Sudermühlen, on the Undeloh-Sudermühlen hiking trail, we find the old watermill at a distance of about one kilometer, where we can also refresh ourselves in the restaurant.

The Weseler Heide near Handeloh at the beginning of autumn 2014, just as the heather has finished blooming, the leaves of the berry bushes turn dark red.

This is also a typical landscape in the Lüneburg Heath, the dry grassland [wire grass], reminiscent of the prairie, as here in the high summer of 2014 near Oberhaverbeck. The Heidschnucken sheep now have to roam far and wide to quench their thirst at the last watering holes.

View from Wilseder Berg into the Heath Valley, towards Niederhaverbeck, this is the western steep ascent, there is also an access from the east, towards Wilsede, which is less strenuous. August 2014

In the picture, the Suhorn ridge above the Wümme valley, where the Wümme springs from source pots, opposite lies the Wümmeberg, the hiking trail leads us further to Nieder- & Oberhaverbeck, where we also find large parking lots for visitors. Late summer 2013.

The Uhlenstieg at the edge of the Osterheide near Schneverdingen, winter in March 2013. According to ornithologists and information signs, owls are still supposed to breed here in spring. By the way, the Nature Conservation Academy is located very close by.

Between forest & heath, near the sheepfold on the hiking trail from Heimbuch to Undeloh, in February 2013, best reached in winter from Undeloh, everything else would be very arduous.

The Borsteler Kuhle in February 2013, not far from Bispingen, this former sand quarry has developed into a natural beauty. One could also call this heath hollow the little brother of the Totengrund in the High Heath, as there are many parallels.

The Pietzmoor near Schneverdingen in March 2014. One of the larger ponds in the picture. Several small rivers originate here in the raised bog, including the Böhme and the Veerse.
Reiner Spangemacher
Winter in the Pietzmoor February 2014, this shot is typical for the raised bog near Schneverdingen, in the last century peat was still being extracted here, on the right & left of the current water surfaces narrow-gauge tracks on narrow dikes transported the peat to the collection points.

Vast land and long paths, the Weseler Heide in October 2012, the heath has now been faded for 4 weeks, the yellow wire grass (dry grassland) still shines in the low sun. Now it becomes lonely in the heath, but ideal for those seeking peace and relaxation. By the way, on the left side (no longer in the picture), there is a large sheep barn.

The Büsenbach Valley near Handeloh in the North Heath, in the picture the bridge over the small stream that gave the heath area its name. It is August 2014, and the heath bloom is just beginning in the background.
Reiner Spangemacher
The Büsenbach Valley in the Northern Heath between Handeloh & Holm-Seppensen in August 2012. In the coming days & weeks, the heath will be in full bloom. The best time to visit the Lüneburg Heath is mid-August.

The Brunsberg near Buchholz/Sprötze in the North Heath, September 2013. The common heather is in full bloom in early September, with a view towards the lookout point on the 129m high Brunsberg, which gave its name to the manageable heath area.
