A great shot, Christine. I have to be careful, given my tendency towards hay fever.

What a hustle and bustle... great photo.
With that number of ships, I would be completely satisfied.

Many thanks to both of you for your comments.
@Marina: On this harbor side that day, you look through the masts of 12 cutters. For the past 4 years, we have been spending a week now and then in Greetsiel "to let body and soul unwind." Before that, I had never had the luck to see so many cutters in one day. However, the chances for such an occurrence seem to be increasing, as more and more fishermen are choosing Greetsiel as their home port because Greetsiel, thanks to the Leysiel barrier (which is equivalent to a lock), is almost freed from the influence of ebb and flow and especially the danger of storm surges. Currently, Greetsiel is home to about 25 cutters. Info: http://www.greetsiel.org/hafen/index.php
P.S.: I am already looking forward to the Friesengeist, which is served in Greetsiel in the old Frisian way.
Regards
Klaus

We have looked at the image closely but did not discover the aura and message.
That is the problem with photography: personally experienced impressions often cannot be conveyed in 1/100 of a second.

Dear Christine,
I have thought for a long time about what to say in response to your comment.
What is the artist trying to tell us? What did he want to express with a dot or a line? Even if he simply spilled the paint bucket, someone else might say that you have unveiled the secret of the cosmos. It's all a matter of interpretation.
I don't call myself an artist. I photograph for the joy of it, and maybe some people like my pictures and can use them to complement their own. That's exactly why I use this site.
You don't have to comment on every picture. You can simply skip or overlook images you don't like.
I don't want more than that, and I don't need more.
Best regards
Reinhard Zabel

Good evening Reinhard,
I have no intention of commenting on every bad picture, but
positive and negative, yet constructive comments have given me many insights, since photography is more than just a simple click. I hope and wish that you can also gain something positive from my comment and that you continue to enjoy photography.
By the way, I am not an artist either, but it’s fun and photography constantly challenges me to try new things to give meaning to the many pixels. Sometimes it succeeds, often unfortunately not.
Best regards, Christine

Good evening Klaus,
such a beautiful photo does not need a mourning border.
Best regards, Christine

Thank you very much for your comment, Christine. I tried out several things for the series and then, after weighing options and following my intuition about whether to use a frame or not, I settled on this solution. For me, the color black does not automatically signify mourning, pain, etc. Normally, I rarely frame my images, but in these cases, I felt that the frames supported the pictures.

Klaus

Good evening Jeanny,
also a very beautiful sunset, which, as you already mentioned, naturally differs from all the others. Sunsets are always there for dreaming, and therefore rightly very popular as a subject.

Yes, Stefan, sunsets are always good for dreaming. ☺
That evening it was rather a bit dull, and that's why the setting sun looks quite different.
The situation Christine described, we have experienced as well. Sometimes it's a matter of minutes to capture a beautiful image.
Fortunately, it is a natural spectacle that basically happens every day, so we will surely have many more opportunities to take beautiful photos.
Best regards
Hans and Jeanny
