Thank you very much for your comment, Christine. I tried out several things for the series and then, after weighing options and following my intuition about whether to use a frame or not, I settled on this solution. For me, the color black does not automatically signify mourning, pain, etc. Normally, I rarely frame my images, but in these cases, I felt that the frames supported the pictures.
