Hiking trail to Undeloh. The Radenbach Valley in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve, in August 2020. Alongside the hiking trail through the Heath Valley near Niederhaverbeck, this sandy path is probably one of the most beautiful trails in the entire nature park. For clarification: a quarter of the nature park is a nature reserve, and at its center lies the village of Wilsede.

Another meadow of this kind can be found a few hundred meters further up at the forest edge, where it feels like being on an alpine pasture. Hike to the Wilseder Berg in September 2020. We are on the Machandelweg, about one kilometer from the destination. To the left, through the bushes, you can still see the sheepfold at Fürstengrab. Another hiking trail runs there, which also leads to the Wilseder Berg and further to Wilsede.

Hiking trail in the Vareler Heide near Scheeßel in the district of Rotenburg/Wümme. Around the Lüneburg Heath, some small heath areas have been preserved. In the past, the heath landscape extended over large areas of northern Germany. Even the rural culture has been preserved here, just as in the central heath. Thus, there are still thatched traditional houses and sheepfolds here, reaching as far as Sittensen deep into the district of Rotenburg. End of August 2020.

The evergreen junipers complete the picture. A blue sky should not be missing, and if there are no heath sheep, then at least some fluffy clouds ;-) Dübelsheide August 2016.

Wolf territory in the quiet & lonely Röders Heide. Not far from here, the hiker can see the tall towers of the rides at Heide Park Soltau. However, tourists usually do not stray here, an unknown area away from the traffic flows. Signs rightly warn of the wolf here, which feels particularly comfortable here, completely undisturbed. Wolf tracks in the damp sand prove its presence. October 2018
