Because of the idea that one has a yard of islands in front of the mainland, this phenomenon is called skärgård in Swedish.<br>Photo taken: August 2, 2017.

Water lilies on Lake Ödevatten in Småland, Sweden. Sweden is not called the number 1 canoe country in Europe for nothing. There is a very good infrastructure here for this hobby. Since Swedes themselves also like to spend time in nature, not just for canoeing, there is almost always a canoe rental or a provider who can assist you on site if you want to plan a canoe tour.
