My commitment to the unobtrusive insects that are slowly disappearing. It is alarming how few bumblebees, beetles, butterflies, etc. remain in cultural landscapes. Yet nature is a harmoniously ordered organism; everything, including the small inconspicuous creatures, has its purpose, belongs to our habitat, our basis for life, which we are increasingly destroying... so Live and let live... October 14, 2019: At the southern edge of the Lüneburg Heath, near the town of Schneverdingen, lies the Pietzmoor. Until about the mid-20th century, peat was extracted here and the moor was drained as a result. Since the mid-1980s, successful rewetting measures have been carried out and the peat pits are filling with water again.
