In March 2020, the historic lime tree in the castle park of Augustenborg (Northern Schleswig) snapped. The 200-year-old tree could not withstand the strong wind. And it was not just any tree. The fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen sat in the shade of the tree in 1844 when he visited the ducal family in Augustenborg. The tree bore a striking resemblance to the tree known from the fairy tale "The Tinderbox." Photo taken: June 6, 2021. 
