The beach of Cofete on the island of Fuerteventura is one of the most beautiful in Spain. This was also the opinion of the customers of the online platform TripAdvisor in 2014. It reached fifth place in the national ranking and 23rd place in the European comparison. Swimming at the beach is not recommended due to the dangers posed by often very high surf and sometimes strong rip currents, which repeatedly lead to sometimes fatal swimming accidents.
