The magnificent weir and lock system "Letzter Heller" on the Werra near Hann. Münden was built until 1924 and is a protected monument.

A so-called "wet storage" is located below the Werratal bridges between Hann. Münden and Hedemünden. Here, unused logs are sprayed with water around the clock to keep them fresh.

The Leine is still quite narrow near Hessenau (Marth). It originates in Leinefelde, Thuringia, and flows through Lower Saxony via Göttingen and Hanover into the Aller.

The dam of the Kelbra reservoir is located on the state border between Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt and can be walked on or cycled across.

The heath can be so beautiful in winter, once the snow has settled ;-) Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. So all that remains is this photographic document from the year 2010. In the picture is the path into the Heidetal; the hill shown is the Stattberg near Niederhaverbeck. It is said to mean "hill instead of mountain," according to the legend.
