Summer idyll on the Isar: Not far from its source in the Karwendel Mountains, the Isar is still a small mountain river. In the center of the town of Scharnitz, located at almost 1000 m above sea level on the Austrian-German border, this view of the turquoise Isar was offered on the hot midsummer day of 05.07.2020, as it makes its way through the town towards Munich.

The first signs of spring also in the Heiderand area near Scheeßel, the dull gray slowly gives way to a delicate green. The clouds in April often create atmospheric images.
The Wümme weir near the watermill is also the provisional endpoint for canoeists. Those who paddle downstream to this point must get out on the other side of the road and carry the boat across the street; on the left in the picture are the steps where the canoes are relaunched into the water, only then can they continue their tour to Rotenburg.
