At the Chalk Cliffs -
Even from the shore, the chalk cliffs on Rügen are very impressive. The path along here is somewhat more challenging and always accompanied by the feeling in the back of your mind that a large piece could slide off at any moment (a few days before our visit, there was a major landslide).

The Rheinsteig is highly recommended... Here is the view of Kaub with the former customs castle Pfalzgrafenstein in the middle of the Rhine, Gutenfels Castle atop the vineyards, and Oberwesel in the background. The photo was taken on 31.08.11 from the Rheinsteig (between Kaub and Lorchhausen).
