@Marina: On this harbor side that day, you look through the masts of 12 cutters. For the past 4 years, we have been spending a week now and then in Greetsiel "to let body and soul unwind." Before that, I had never had the luck to see so many cutters in one day. However, the chances for such an occurrence seem to be increasing, as more and more fishermen are choosing Greetsiel as their home port because Greetsiel, thanks to the Leysiel barrier (which is equivalent to a lock), is almost freed from the influence of ebb and flow and especially the danger of storm surges. Currently, Greetsiel is home to about 25 cutters. Info: http://www.greetsiel.org/hafen/index.php
P.S.: I am already looking forward to the Friesengeist, which is served in Greetsiel in the old Frisian way.

Hello Hans-Jürgen,
you can easily drive past this access road very quickly, that happened to us at first as well. However, the little detour towards Dunboy Castle Hotel is worth it. Personally, I didn't like this grandiose building, but the immediate surroundings and the coastline there are a dream. Exploring Ireland is a small lifelong task. The country is intoxicating in its diverse beauty.

Leider hatte ich bei meinem Trip wegen Kleinkind nicht wirklich die Gelegenheit zu ausgedehnten Wanderungen. Mich würde sehr interessieren, wo dieses Bild aufgenommen wurde. Ich liebe solche Plätze und das Bild ist einfach Klasse.

Hallo Hans-Jürgen,
das Foto habe ich von der Galway-Bridge ins Tal blickend gemacht. Das ist die kleine, alte Brücke an der
N71, über die man aus Richtung Killarney nach Kenmare fährt. Direkt nach der Brücke kommt eine scharfe Rechts-Kurve, in der auf der linken Seite eine alte Kirche steht... also noch vor der kleinen Ruine und Ladies View. An der Kirche konnten wir problemlos parken. Es waren keine 50 Meter bis zur Brücke. An den Seiten der Brücke gab es kleine Abstiege, so dass man die Nahe Umgebung problemlos erkunden konnten. Auch uns fehlte oft die Zeit... rein theoretisch hätten wir im 100 m-Takt anhalten können. Die Region ist einfach traumhaft.

Tolles Foto, eine traumhafte Landschaft. Den Healy Pass haben wir leider nicht gesehen, weil wir die Küstenstrasse genommen haben... offensichtlich haben wir etwas verpasst.

Hallo Hans-Jürgen,
sind das die Upper-Lakes vom Ladies View aus fotografiert? Wie auch immer... sehr nah, sehr schön. Ich neige zu Panoramaaufnahmen und ärgere mich dann später, weil ich keine Detailfotos gemacht habe.
Vielleicht kannst Du mir eine Frage beantworten, die mir auf den Nägeln brennt. An der N71 aus Richtung Killarney gibt es vielleicht einen Kilometer nach der Galway Bridge (direkt in der Kurve steht links eine alte Kirche) am linken Straßenrand eine kleine Castle-Ruine. Kennst Du vielleicht den Namen?

Sehr schönes Motiv, Hans-Jürgen. Der Killarney-Nationalpark gehört auch zu meinen absoluten Favoriten. Ich hoffe, dass Du uns eine Menge Fotos von Irland mitgebracht hast.

danke für die positive Bewertung. Ich muss zwar gestehen, dass es nicht ganz einfach war diese Blütenpracht zu fotografieren, sind doch die vielen feinen Staubgefäße etwas Unruhiges nicht nur für das Auge, sondern auch für den Autofocus der Kamera.
