Straight ahead runs the 36 km long Julian Canal, built between 1925 and 1935, visible in the distance is the first lock near Limmel, top left leads to the part of the Meuse that has not been navigable since 1822, in the foreground is the junction with the connecting canal to the Zuid-Willemsvaart. Despite or because of the rainy weather with a tendency for thunderstorms, the heather in the Maasduinen near Well radiates a colorful and bright splash of color. It doesn't always have to be the Lüneburg Heath... sometimes it can also be the Maasduinen/Reindersmeer nature reserve in the Dutch province of Limburg. 26.8.2012
