The mountain Montaña de Tindaya is located in the northwest of the island. For the island's indigenous people, Tindaya was a sacred place believed to possess magical powers. The 400-meter-high mountain, which has developed a unique shape over time, rises solitary from the flat, dry landscape of Fuerteventura.

If you want to explore the volcanic landscape in the southern part of Fuerteventura, it is advisable to wear hiking boots and clothing to climb the 300-meter-high volcano Montaña Roja. If you have your camera with you, you can take beautiful pictures from here of the neighboring islands Lanzarote and La Graciosa, which stand out against the sea.
