Almost boundless expanse on the Brocken in the afternoon of 21.07.2013: The view extends over the northern Harz, the Harz foothills, the elongated Elm between Braunschweig and Helmstedt about 120 - 140 km into the North German Plain. In many places, the forest of former spruce monocultures in the Harz National Park is dying to make way for a new forest; a primeval forest is emerging there, the forest is healing itself... 
