EAST PIER OF THE REMAGEN BRIDGE ON THE RHINE RIVER BANK NEAR ERPEL The 335-meter-long "LUDENDORFF BRIDGE" over the RHINE at REMAGEN/ERPEL was the last intact railway bridge at the end of World War II, captured intact by the advancing American troops, but collapsed a few days later due to overloading... On the rock in the foreground, a memorial plaque commemorates these battles, but also a reunion among friends in the 1990s... on 23.8.2018 
