The Geierlay Bridge near Mörsdorf in the Hunsrück is Germany's longest suspension rope bridge. It was opened on October 3, 2015. The construction costs amounted to 1,140,000 euros. By June 12, 2016, 200,000 visitors had already been counted. The spectacular pedestrian bridge is intended to sustainably promote tourism in the structurally weak region. (October 25, 2015)

The Geierlay suspension bridge is 360m long and part of the Saar-Hunsrück Trail. At a height of up to 100 m, it spans the Mörsdorfer Bach, a tributary of the Moselle. (October 25, 2015)
