On the Rhine bank at Langst-Kierst (Meerbusch), you really can't wait long enough for the Rhine ferry to cross over to Kaiserswerth (Düsseldorf). A dreamy little piece of earth.

During a walk in Düsseldorf's Ständehauspark on 11.05.2008, I was made aware of these three red-eared slider turtles that had made themselves comfortable on a small island of some plant debris in the Swan Pond, probably to enjoy the sun. They certainly do not belong there, perhaps released? The image was taken with full optical zoom combined with digital enlargement, so unfortunately the image quality is not completely optimal.
