Tree fans above the Este. The heath river Este originates southeast of Welle in the Lüneburg Heath and flows west of Buchholz in the North Heath through the collective municipalities of Tostedt and Hollenstedt before emptying into the Elbe near Moisburg, Buxtehude, and Cranz.
