The Pietzmoor near Schneverdingen in March 2014. One of the larger ponds in the picture. Several small rivers originate here in the raised bog, including the Böhme and the Veerse. 

The Uhlenstieg at the edge of the Osterheide near Schneverdingen, winter in March 2013. According to ornithologists and information signs, owls are still supposed to breed here in spring. By the way, the Nature Conservation Academy is located very close by. 
