Riegel am Kaiserstuhl, view of the Leopold Canal, which is formed here by the confluence of four water bodies (probably unique in Germany): Elz, Alte Dreisam, Glotter, and Dreisam Canal flow together here within a few meters of each other. To prevent devastating floods, the 12.5 km long canal to the Rhine was completed in 1843, Aug. 2020 
