Actually, only from the publicly accessible tower of the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Mělník can you simultaneously overlook the confluence of the Vltava River (left) and the Vltava Canal (right, with the well-known Hořín lock) into the Elbe River. At this point, the Vltava is actually the larger river, having the longer course and carrying more water. Why the Elbe wins in the further naming, I have not yet been able to find out. 13.10.2017 
