The first signs of spring also in the Heiderand area near Scheeßel, the dull gray slowly gives way to a delicate green. The clouds in April often create atmospheric images.<br>
The Wümme weir near the watermill is also the provisional endpoint for canoeists. Those who paddle downstream to this point must get out on the other side of the road and carry the boat across the street; on the left in the picture are the steps where the canoes are relaunched into the water, only then can they continue their tour to Rotenburg. End of April 2021

After many hikers have probably wandered around this wasteland for years, signs have now been put up for orientation  Those who are then exhausted from all the reading can relax on one of the benches. Hills near Scheeßel/Ostervesede in March 2021.

Wilseder Berg in its winter coat. A very rare sight, white winters are scarce in northern Germany. When it does snow and the sun shines, you have to hurry, because then a footpath of at least 3 km lies ahead of us. Motor vehicles are not allowed in the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve. The nearest parking lots are located in Einem, Niederhaverbeck, and Oberhaverbeck. February 2021.

A photographer rarely comes alone. Hiking trail from Turmberg to Oberhaverbeck, just a few hundred meters away. Snow is rare in this region, so everyone wants to quickly take a shot. Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve, late January 2021.

This is the winter of 2021 in the Rotenburg/Wümme district ;-) After a long rainy period, January 2021 shows its sunny side for once. Here at Fleetsee in Fintel. In pre-Corona times, people liked to have barbecues here in the summer.

The Karlstein is located in the Harburg Hills about 1.75 km west of the Rosengarten Forestry Office on a narrow wooded ridge above a steep terrain spur, as can also be read on Wikipedia. An old legend revolves around this stone, with Emperor Charlemagne as the main character. The light was modest, December 2020.

The lake lies still... in the truest sense of the word. Wiesensee Lauenbrück, it is fed by the Fintau. Fintau & Wiesensee are separated only by a hiking trail. Just before Christmas 2020. Yes, it doesn't look like winter ;-)

Besides the usual foliage colors at this time, the far-reaching glow of the white mustard, related to rapeseed but blooming in May, is impressive. Late October 2020

Eggersmühlen, that is the name of the old water mill, the buildings can be seen in the background. Here the Fintau is dammed up; it originates just a few kilometers from here near Reinsehlen in the Lüneburg Heath. From here it flows into the district of Rotenburg/Wümme, which begins just to the left behind the forest, all the way to Lauenbrück, where it merges with the Wümme. Late October 2020.

At the edge of the forest near Wesseloh in the Heidekreis. Now the sun is showing itself again, often only for a few minutes, and you have to make the most of it. In addition to the colorful foliage, the white mustard adds further color accents. Late October 2020.

November 2010, yes, there used to be a few short winters. In recent years, the heath has remained green. So I am resorting to an old shot. The contrast to the heath bloom in summer. Reinsehlen near Schneverdingen.
