There was no thunderstorm here, but probably under these clouds in the area of the Swabian Jura. The two clouds on the right later merged in the anvil region, unfortunately I did not photograph this.
In this weather situation, such cumulus clouds often form over the uplands, here over the Swabian Jura. The Rems Valley runs east-west, while the Swabian Jura stretches from northeast to southeast.
This "tilt" is reflected by the clouds. If I could go 250 to 300 meters higher from this vantage point, the Albtrauf could be seen over the Schurwald heights visible in the picture.
