Sunset over the Saargau... 6 transmission masts of Europe 1, the French longwave transmitter (183 kHz), stand in Oberfelsberg. Here is one of the emergency masts (height 234 meters) at sunset. 12.09.2009 - Where the sun is just setting lies Thionville in Lorraine, and to the right on the horizon is the border with Luxembourg.

eine sehr schöne und äußerst interessante Aufnahme.
Dann könnte man von hier aus ja bis nach Schengen sehen, wenn ich das geographisch richtig deute.

Schengen liegt im Tal aber die Richtung stimmt. Sehen kann man das AKW in Cattenom und den Sendemast von RTL in Dudelange.

Hallo Erhard,
dann schliesst sich im Grunde ein Kreis, es gibt im Ösling einige Stellen (z.B. Bourscheid, Grevels), dort können wir auch das AKW von Cattenom und den Sendemast in Dudelange sehen.

Hallo Erhard,
sehr schönes Bild.
Ich hätte es aber eigestellt unter Städte-Fotos-Bauwerke-Sendeanlagen, da passt es besser zum Thema, das andere Foto von Dir von dem Sendemast ebenso.

@rainer: Wir wohnen ja nur einige hundert Meter vom Sender entfernt und daher habe ich noch ne Menge an Photos, die auch wieder in die Abteilung Sendeanlagen eingestellt werden.

Broadcast mast Europe 1 at the France-Germany border on 06.10.2007 - The political status of Saarland in the 1950s made it possible to build and operate a French transmitter on Saarland territory (later FRG). The longwave transmission facility is one of the largest in the world. In the foreground is the border stone between Germany and France, accessible via the old border path from Berus. Here is the view from France (only 1 meter) into Germany. This view is no longer possible today because one of the transmission masts snapped in August 2012 and was completely demolished in November 2012.
