Die Weite des Sees hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Wir waren aber etwas unsicher auf dem Eis, denn obwohl es gefroren war und täglich kontrolliert wird, konnten wir hören wie das nicht gefrorene Wasser unter unseren Füssen arbeitete. Dem Spaziergang auf dem Eis gaben diese Geräusche noch einmal eine besondere Note.

Ein wenig beunruigt waren wir anfangs schon. Aber als wir wussten das dass Eis jeden Tag überprüft wird haben wir den Spaziergang auf dem See sehr genossen.

ein sehr eindrückliches Eis-Bild. Da das Eis an der Wasserstrasse Elbe den Schiffsverkehr stört, wird versucht das Eis zu brechen, im Gegensatz zum abgelegenen See im Vallée de Joux - so gegensätzlich wirken auch die Eisbilder.

Leider standen wir nach erfolgreichem Aufstieg zum Schloss saisonbedingt vor verschlossenen Türen. Ich hätte den Turm zu gerne aus der Nähe betrachtet. Nun das werden wir im Frühling nachholen.

es hat vierundzwanzig Stunden geschneit, doch der Schnee blieb nur kurz. Als es richtig kalt wurde war er weg. Wir nutzten die kurze Zwischenzeit um den Augenblick festzuhalten.

First of all, I want to thank you for your kind comment, I always appreciate it ;-)
But those are not my tracks, maybe they were sled tracks or a cross-country ski trail?
I took this photo during a walk back then. At first, the tracks always ran along the path, so I couldn't photograph them without including the less photogenic path... but at this spot, they branched off from the path, allowing this photo ;-)

Hello Lawrence,
you are right, there is no risk of the Lac Leman overflowing in your picture. On the contrary, since the horizon lies slightly lower to the east, the lake could in this case still provide lake access to many places far into the Valais and also flood many.
The seagull on the fork is a regular visitor there and it is almost impossible to get a photo without the obligatory seagull. The photo is well done.
