Trees and the Harz! Fred's favorite subject ;-) That really catches the eye and you captured it well. It's nice to see something from my old homeland again.
Best regards from Denmark

A truly uniquely beautiful sunrise, but why didn't you make a video right away with all the many pictures?

Thank you, Stefan, for your words and your praise! Unfortunately, I don't have a video camera; besides, I like each phase as a single photo; each one is quite different again, don't you think?

This is probably the spot on the fairy tale trail where the wicked witch poisoned the mountain stream and enchanted the greenery with lots of light...

Beautiful, Fred!
These trees wonderfully covered with snow and the wide view with the slightly colored sky! Very beautiful!
Best regards, Markus

I just discovered such subjects in your gallery on your website. The paintings look great. But now a question. What is more difficult to realize, such a forest motif photographically or painterly? I have been interested in this for a long time.
I have been dealing with the question for a long time. Is it more difficult to translate a subject into a photo or into a painting?
For example, today was such a fantastic day that Mont Blanc appeared right behind Geneva. Around 8:00 PM it was the "Mt. Rouge." But I had to work and had no opportunity to capture it as a suitable photographic motif. Tomorrow I want to hike up the 1718m high Crêt de Neige. It will probably be dull then and I will no longer have this clear view over Lake Geneva, Geneva, the Rhône-Alpes all the way to Mont Blanc. But I imagine that you painters could combine both motifs (clear and dull) into one. Am I wrong?
Best regards
